Yusef had a smile that could light up a room and a laugh that would bring you along before you even knew what was funny.
His curiosity and love of sport including soccer and running combined with his fascination with the human body and all the things it could do nurtured his interest in his chosen field of study, Kinesiology.
His passion for education and a continuous thirst for knowledge and exploration drove him to Vietnam to teach English and travel the world.
He passed away too young, but no one can doubt the impact he had on everyone who knew him.
The Yusef Tahiru Scholarship Fund was established in the summer of 2020 to honor the life and legacy of Yusef Tahiru. More than education, we aim to promote the achievement of dreams, the encouragement of the bold, and the enrichment of those that may not know where they are going but view education as a path forward. This Scholarship is STEEM focused because we want to be a part of building up the next generation of Scientists, Technologists, Engineers, and Educators. Just as Yusef did.
